Bromance, bullets, and brain-off fun.” Heads of State isn’t reinventing the action-comedy wheel, but it doesn’t really try to — and that’s kind of the charm. John Cena and Idris Elba have great chemistry, carrying the film with a buddy dynamic that’s both chaotic and endearing. Their banter? Hilarious. Their fight scenes? Over-the-top in the best way. Plot-wise, it’s your standard “save the world while cracking jokes” setup, and while nothing here is particularly memorable, it is entertaining. Definitely falls into the “easy watch” category — the kind of movie you throw on when you want some laughs and explosions without thinking too hard. Not a must-see, but not a waste of time either. Just don’t expect much beyond the bromance.

Heads of State

The shock in my face when I recognised that this was John Cena… he’s a better actor than I would’ve expected. But then again WWE is purely acting, so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised.  A couple of dudes (with good chemistry) working together with some good action scenes, an okay storyline, and slightly disinterested viewer (me). It was camp.

Heads of State

❝If life is such a Möbius strip of failure and futility, why would you want to lead an entire nation?❞ · · ────── •⊰✧⊱• ────── · · Perfectly average; you get exactly what you'd expect from looking at the poster. It's the kind of film you'd watch with your family when you just want to switch your brain off and be entertained. I'm not a huge John Cena fan so minus points in that regard, but all in all, meh.
