“Look for the blood and the smoke.” — Ray A visceral plunge into modern conflict, Warfare delivers an unfiltered portrayal of a platoon thrust into chaos. Borrowing authenticity from real events—most notably the Battle of Ramadi—the film masterfully balances the harsh immediacy of combat with the quiet, psychological toll it takes on those caught in the crossfire. The characters are raw, grounded, and deeply human. This isn’t a movie that glorifies conflict—it captures the grinding uncertainty and moral grey zones that define modern military cinema. The sound design is nothing short of phenomenal—swinging from the deafening silence after a grenade or IED blast to the overlapping chaos of radio comms, giving you the sensory overload of being pulled in ten directions at once. It’s not just heard, it’s felt, pulling you directly into the disorientation of the battlefield. Composer’s subtle score and tight cinematography undercut the spectacle, drawing viewers into claustrophobic corridors and the stillness before the storm. The interplay between silence and chaos heightens tension, reminding us that war’s most lethal weapon is often our perception of control. Warfare is unflinching and sobering—and ultimately, a deeply human story about survival, comradeship, and the heavy cost of strategy when lives hang in the balance.

Warfare

Great sound and visuals, but that’s it. No payoff, no stakes. Just a pretty, boring film.

Warfare

Not gonna lie, this still haunt me minutes after i finished it. I don't know about war but the scream, the pain, the scene, it feels real and traumatic. That would be great if you watching it on big screen! Even though the first 30 minutes is boring but after that all you feel is just the traumatic experience that will haunt you.

Warfare

I like war films. Whether it's propaganda or not, I like it. And Warfare doesn’t try to hide what it is: a tactical, dirty, and brutal fragment of something bigger, like someone took a mission from a military shooter and put it on the big screen without bothering to justify it lol. There’s no emotional narrative. No character arcs. No redemption, no trauma, no reflection on the meaning of war. Just war. Period. War with no noble cause. American nationalism is blatant, but so convenient it’s laughable. It’s the kind of film that doesn’t question itself because it doesn’t even think it has to, which makes sense if it’s based on a soldier’s memoir from the battalion. Sometimes I wonder if it’s okay to enjoy something that feels so cynical. But the truth is, I did enjoy it. It’s tense, well directed, and works like a military choreography. I don’t think it tries to move you (or is that final montage trying to squeeze out some empathy? maybe), if anything, just to impress you. And it does that well, but I’d pick Civil War a thousand times over.
