I thought the concept was actually pretty solid — the idea of a mythical creature like a unicorn being evil is a neat twist. But the execution? Let’s just say this one feels destined for the massive reduced-price basket at a store that just wants it gone. Performance-wise, it’s a strange mix: no one stands out as amazing, but no one is terrible either. The comedy, though, left me wanting more — especially with Paul Rudd in the cast. You expect him to light up the screen, but here it feels like they kept him on a leash. And then there’s Jenna. I’m a big fan, but I keep wishing she’d branch out beyond the dark, gothic, teen archetype. At the same time, she’s perfect at it, which might be the problem — she’s stuck in roles she can do in her sleep. Cool premise, decent cast, but not enough bite.
