Black Birds
This series is on par with Mindhunter—six episodes of intense, gripping storytelling delivered brilliantly. Taron, as James Keene, shines with his remarkable transformation, while Paul’s character adds a layer of complexity. The blend of prison tension and detective elements slowly seeps in, leading to a satisfying conclusion.

89/100 First off RIP Ray Liotta you fucking legend. This is quality television. Sure it’s not the most satisfying but it’s real life, when is it ever satisfying. Taron Edgerton proving how good an actor he really is and honestly Paul Walter Hauser did one hell of a job and was one hell of a casting. This is one of the best shows of 2022. It’s really incredible how those bodies were never found, imagine the torment of their parents knowing they’ll never see the remains of the daughters, absolutely horrifying and saddening. I still wonder why there are so many serial killers in the US or maybe the US just manages to find them out while other countries don’t. The dynamic between Jimmy and his father was great and so was Gary and Larry. This show deserves more recognition. Apple TV needs more recognition because they keep producing these fucking brilliant shows but just do not market them well. I really wish more people did. We’ve seen crime solving but I don’t ever remember seeing a show about a convict trying to illicit a confession out of a serial killer, we know who it is from the beginning yet we are anxious, nervous and tormented through the eyes of Jimmy Keene. It’s very well written, that’s the biggest selling point of this show. When you already know the killer in a crime drama and you still manage to make it this good is just props to the writing team. That’s talent.
Black Birds
I have only seen Episode One The show is a bit slow paced, but is generally good. It is, however, one of the ugliest things I’ve seen. Just looks gross, it’s a big brown/gray/blue mess. Most of the exteriors look like they’re actually green screen. The ugliness of this show is legitimately a distraction.
Black Birds
Holy shit Paul Walter Hauser. One of the most compelling performances I’ve ever seen. Taron Egerton is beyond incredible as well and deserves his flowers for this. The best work I’ve ever seen from Ray Liotta. And finally, the best father/son casting I can recall. Side Note: Hearing Ray Liotta say “Jimmy” again warmed my heart.
