Ils has been sitting in my watchlist for a very long time. It took me a while to find a quality stream, since it seemed to be a difficult film to locate. I was fortunate enough to find a decent stream, so I decided to finally watch it. After finishing it, I'm actually a tad disappointed. There were many fantastic things that I had read about the film, saying that it's one of the best horror films ever. Now that I've seen it, I can't seem to grasp as to why it's considered a) a horror film and b) one of the greatest. It seemed to be more like a thriller than a horror film, with nothing scary happening. It felt more like the film Silent House and Funny Games than any horror film. It had a basic premise that many other films have done before, with many doing it better, so I don't see why this has been considered one of the best. After years of waiting, it's nice to finally see this film. It's sad that it wasn't as good as I hoped it was, but it's nice to have finally seen it.

First of all, i LOVE french horror. They push the envelope which is why it always sticks with me. This one tho... it is 1 hour and ten minutes long and doesnt start kicking in until after half an hour mark.  After the very slow burn first half, it kicks in and never stops kicking. Will it stick with you like martyrs and inside? Not really but its a bleak home invasion movie. Again, not like inside!
