listen this movie is not great but im gonna give it credit for all the creepy moments it had. like it has several flaws but i dont wanna shit talk it. i saw the vision they were going for even though the execution wasn't great. and like i love shay mitchell but this wasnt her best performance (for her best performance watch the series Dollface) but i appreciate the scary moments and creep factor also i know this movie came out before stranger things 4 but seriously how does hannah grace's demon have the powers of vecna?

Well, well, well. It's not a surprise that I didn't enjoy The Possession of Hannah Grace, but I'm still surprised that I managed to sit through the entire film. It's a film that tried way too hard to be scary, creating moments that should have been filled with tension and terror into moments that left me actually laughing. From the opening scene, this film shows that it's not going to be the cream of the crop. It takes nearly every possession cliche and turns it up, and with the signature blockbuster jump scares, nothing new is brought to the table. It seems like it tried to be a cooler version of The Autopsy of Jane Doe, but failed at being scary, or being original. The Autopsy of Jane Doe is a very similar horror film, but one that actually is genuinely frightening, and doesn't fully rely on cheap jump scares to keep the film going. It's a shame this film wasn't good, since I had hope that maybe a major studio would put out a decent possession film, but I am let down yet again, and now I'm left hoping that there will eventually be a well done possession film from Hollywood.
